ABOUT BEESWAX - WHY IT'S THE BEST !
For those unfamiliar with beeswax, here's just a few of its many amazing points: Beeswax burns brighter, cleaner and longer than any other wax on the market.
Pure beeswax ionizes the air as it burns. This process causes floating particles to stick to each other in the air, becoming too heavy to float and falling to the ground.
The flame of a beeswax candle acts as an air purifier, for the same reason above, but on a micro scale. (We fostered a little black dog for a few months, and she loved to get skunked, and when she did, the only way to get the skunk out of the house was to light a bunch of candles. Worked like a charm. They're also great for people with allergies, and people with exotic birds who can become deathly ill from chemically manufactured candles.)
Beeswax is the hardest and most stable wax for pouring molded candles, and it actually has the highest melting point ( 140 ), so it's the best for shipping in the summer or for travelers carrying gifts in the car. Note: bees keep the inside of their hive just under 100 degrees, so their wax is designed to be heat tolerant.
Beeswax is naturally "scented". The smell of the hive, the warm honey-bread smell, sweet and yeasty can be found in the wax as well as notes of desert rain and tree resin and floral pollen. Beeswax never needs to be scented and is beautiful in all of its shades.
I won't get into it here but the historical role beeswax has in the human story, as well as church and prayer, are fascinating. Beeswax was an accepted form of currency to pay taxes to the king, the Vikings used it as it's been found in sunken ships, and to this day the Hopi and Navajo tribes use the raw honey comb to ward off evil spirits.
Beeswax is the fuel which is also the vestal. It's substance which is pulled up through the desert floor, through sticks, to the sweet desert bloom and then changed from nectar to stable, flammable wax inside of a honey bee's body. How unbelievable is that ??
The competitors have nothing on beeswax. Soy has been gaining popularity, but the truth is that soy is heavily sprayed with pesticides and it is one of the main causes of deforestation in the amazon where old growth areas are come crashing down for soy plantations. Gah .. And palm oils and waxes are just about as bad ..
Beeswax has a zero carbon footprint - just buzzing bees visiting flowers in the sunshine. When you bring beeswax to your guests, you bring them the best, brightest, most beautiful golden fuel there is... and they'll love you for it... and so will we.

This is an amazing piece - and one of our oldest bottles - dating back to 1880. The glass on this bottle is thick and heavy - much like the candle we built from it. Ding-Dong, it’s the milk man! This is by far our biggest bottle, weighing over two pounds. This will burn for a long, long time, and as with most of our larger candles, this piece will burn and melt away from the center and leave a thin facade of the outer rim as the inside hollows out.
The embossed text and imagery on this bottle is remarkable. It’s ribbed all the way from the lip down and displays great character on both sides. It’s a perfect table piece because people on both sides of the table will have a great view.

This is by far our largest mason. At around three full pounds of wax, this full-quart Coffee Mason towers above the pint and 1/2 pints. The harlequin pattern is very charming, and in a center crest, stands a wise old owl on a branch with the text "OLD JUDGE" (top) "COFFEE" (bottom). This candles makes for hundreds of carefree burning as the flame tunnels through its body and emits the soft sent of honey and nectar and flower pollen ; )
